If you only have one 1/2" Gorton collet I would suggest buying a second one as a backup

Newly purchased Gorton 0-16 Mill, looking for some advice

Yes that sounds like a good idea, that'll definitely be the collet that gets the most use in this machine. I'm gonna have to keep an eye on eBay and a few forums, maybe even someone on this forum has one (or a whole set)?
I don't see any on tools-n-gizmos at the moment but I did find a place semi-local to me in Toledo called Elaire Corporation that can make them (unfortunately at $220 each with a $500 minimum order) so that's always an option if necessary.
