Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I’m currently in the same predicament that you were in. I have a fried oil pump, and I’m attempting to fit the same 1-A little giant to my machine. (I also tried a little giant 1-ys.) Unfortunately, I have been unable to get reasonable flow to the sight glass even after flushing the system, and removing the filter screen in the Harig valve block. I am running Harig oil in my machine.
-You mentioned some adjustments to the valving. Would you mind elaborating on this?
-Do you happen to have any other suggestions?
