Oilite material?

I go the artificial impregnation route and soak them in synthetic oil :p
I was told soaking won't absorb the oil, smaller ones you place on your thumb fill with oil. With index finger on top press fingers and thumb together till the oil is forced to the outside.

Years ago when I was young and before I knew what they were, I got a couple of those bearings at a surplus store and thought they were brass. The application I got them for required some brazing operations. PSA: They don’t braze well and the oil in them burns for a quite a while after it ignites

I used some of the new wonder oil containing Teflon on My wood stove blower. It locked up solid within an hour. Cleaned the bearings out and used regular oil and it worked again.
Rule #1 Don't put the bushings in Your pocket.
Rule #2 Don't set them on a nice new blue print either.
