Old Union 4” 3 jaw disassembly

I got some paint thinner. Can I leave the disassembled chuck soaking all night?
 
Yes paint thinner is pretty much the same as mineral spirits. Letting it soak shouldn’t be a problem. Unless there’s something I don’t know about modern, “green” paint thinner?

Edit: I looked at an SDS for a California-approved paint thinner and it would be fine. Mostly acetone, with some mineral spirits.

Thank you for that! I did leave it overnight last night and plan to go clean it all up in a bit. Just need to figure out what exactly to lubricate it all with.
 
I don’t use oil or grease on my chucks. It just attracts chips and other contamination.

I run them dry or use a dry lube like spray graphite.
