Sometime back an old lathe due for the scrappers was donated to our Veteran Tractor & Engine Club. I am unable to find any name plate and the Company who donated did not know except that it is probably asold as the Company itself (100+ years)
Did lathe was disassembled and shipped to head office to be written off. I have collected it and moved to our club where it is now mostly assembled again.
The lathe is 5.6meters with the bed 4.5meters. I have searched www.lathes.co.uk and found a picture of a smaller lathe. Vomparing the bed shape and the feet it kind of match an old Swift lathe.
It would be great if somebody are able to confirm if it is indeed a swift and maybe give an idea of the age. Thnx G
