I recently bought a lightly used lathe. The only tagging I can find on it is PM-1340. I contacted Precision Matthews hoping to get a manual for it presuming it was a Precision Matthews lathe. I sent the parts rep some pictures and he replied "I know it says PM-1340, but I have seen machines that are "PM-XXXX" that are definitely not from us. We have also never had a model that was just PM-1340. It's always been PM-1340GT". There is a serial number 742069, and a Manf. Date of 2007 09 on it. Comparing with other lathe images I found online and looking at the ink coloring used and some of the labeling makes me think my lathe might have been made by KBC as it has some detailing/color scheme similar to their current GRIP-1340G lathe. I was wondering if anyone else out there might have run into anything like this with a lathe that started PM-XXXX that wasn't actually a Precision Matthews - and could give me a lead on who might have made my lathe?
