The PM-932V mill does not come with a motor to lift the head. Using a geared AC motor from ebay, a flex coupling from Amazon, a simple machined interface plate, and some switches, see below for what I did. For <$200 and some scrap alum plate, it works pretty well. Although time will tell how long that Chinese motor is gonna last :)

Geared AC motor
The AC motor comes with a control box that I modified to accept a push button switch to activate the motor and a toggle switch to change motor direction (up/down). If you use the exact motor as shown, note that the push button switch is wired as NC (normally closed).
I measured the torque required to lift the head at ~8 ft-lbs. This motor is rated as 11.8 ft-lbs and is plenty powerful enough to lift the head with ease. Although it has a variable speed dial, I pretty much leave it untouched near max speed when using.

Cool!

I was looking at a similar motor for a conveyor belt drive on my woodworking drum sander.
