Removing cross-feed shaft rotational play

The cross-feed screw on my Atlas-Craftsman 12" lathe has enough play that I can get almost 30 degrees of rotation on the handle when reversing rotation, before it starts to move the compound the other way.

I am assuming that the cross-feed nut is worn and when I pull the saddle to replace wipers I'd like to also replace the cross-feed nut.

Can anyone here that has rebuilt one of these model lathes confirm that this is the right part?

For this lathe:

That much backlash is workable. You won't get rid of all of it in any case. It may not be the screw and nut also. Some slack can be tightened up by eliminating some end play in the handwheel asssembly.

Thanks, I'll check all of that when I dis-assemble it.
