I have a RF30 clone from Menards.
The motor that is on it is a 145t Marathon 1.5hp Chore Motor.
I decided I wanted to Put a VFD and 3phase motor.
The motor I picked up is a Baldor 3phase 145t frame ($80 shipped brand new sweet!) that can be wired for two different maximum speeds - 1725 and another speed about half that.

Now I know I can adjust the speed easy enough on the VFD.
Would there be any incentive to wiring it up so that I can switch between the high rpm and low rpm range? I am thinking there is not and just wire it up for the high speed range.

Also anyone using a cheaper Hyanuang VFDs on their mills? They are $140 vs $335 for a Hitachi WJ200. I have uysed the Hitachi WJ200, X200, Teco FM50, Bongfilio, and Ge Fuji Mini 300 VFDs and they are all good but the china one is used a lot by the DIY CNC mill crew I know and I am considering giving it a try as it is half the cost and much more in line of what I want to spend on this round column mill. The WJ200 is a badass VFD though so it is hard to choose.

Picked the WJ200 3hp/ Its more coin but I like the features. I want to get it to work well with modbus too.
