RIVETT 918 before and after

Here is an old Rivett 918 made in 1945 that I cleaned and painted. I was lucky to find a compound in very good condition. This thing runs sweet. I replaced the old 575 volt two speed motor with a new Baldor motor.

WOW. What did you use to derust it? and ok another WOW. What did you do to the ways (scrape, lap, grind...)?

I did not scrape the ways. I used a fine wire brush and Rust Blaster to remove the rust. Its not clear in the photos, but there is some pitting on the bed.
 
Really looks like new, Now I want one like I need another project.

Somehow,I could find no "after" until I replied with "where is "after". Then,a bunch of replies and pictures came up.
