Perusing thru the www galaxies I saw this single insert fly cutter that mounts the insert onto the fly cutter body. This is not the regular fly cutter that you put a LH lathe tool into. It's made by "Rover" and I found it at Penn Tool's site here. Anyone have any experience with this type of cutter? My mill has an MT2 spindle so I'm limited to face mills and I'd like to see what type of job this thing does. I may just get one since it's so cheap...if that's still the price of it. Thanks.

I've never came across that one before. Is it adjustable? Fly cutters are versatile cause you adjust for diameter. If that one is fixed, I don't really see anything special about it.

I know it says fly cutter but it reminds me of the HD style "boring bars" for boring heads that Mesa Tools offers. They have dual shanks though and that Rover one does look like to be a facing type tool.
