SB 10" catalog number 999-R, information needed

You can go to the South Bend site, give them $25 (thru Grizzley who now owns all the SB stuff) and they will send you a copy of the "card" with all the options on the machine, to whom it was sold (usu a supplier) and the date it left the factory. Well worth it for the provanance.
There is also a CD you can purchase modestly that has all the SB instructions, manuals, etc. - another worthwhile purchase. I don't have it with me but I can send adress info if you are interested.

Since you are in this far,(having taken off the bearing caps) I would change out that old leather belt to a serpentine belt. A continuous serpentine belt will never stretch like leather, and will last your lifetime.

-Already part of the plan. The leather belt is homemade by a previous owner and has a couple of issues. I am working on a rebuild kit for it. The mix of features on the lathe means none of the regular stock items are quite right.
