It is probably not 20 mm. Using an imperial/SAE open end wrench on the nut and see what fits. I am guessing 3/4" or 7/8"?

It is 13/16". I have a SB wrench. It's cute and short, but I never use it. I like the standard combination wrenches. Even a used Harbor Freight is fine. You don't torque on it that much.

13/16 it must be then, although it's rather a loose fit, but a 20MM fits just perfect.
Bolt is 7/16" NC thread
Still would like an original proper wrench though

I cobbled up a quick-and-dirty solution (for my Grizzly 9x20 lathe) back in 2017. See post #2 at:

Like many Asian 9X20 lathe users, I grew tired of using a wrench to tighten and loosen the tailstock locking nut. The locking bolt is a Metric 8mm-1.25mm bolt 4 inches long. The nearest sized Imperial bolt would be a 4 inch long 5/16 X 20 tpi bolt. The 20 tpi threads are just a little coarser...
