Shipping costs

Kind of a newbie question, I live in northern Alabama and looking at buying a vertical mill. I am finding more mills in the rust belt than the bible belt. Knowing shipping a mill will probably be in my future. A important note, I can use the loading dock and fork lift where I work.

What does shipping a mill 5-600 miles cost?

I've had a lathe shipped from northern Ohio to Atlanta... around 2000 lbs... it was around $500. That did not include delivery... I picked it up at the freight hub.

Thanks bear. Yes, I bought a lathe from them a few weeks ago. I thought they accepted a offer on a mill and they even sent me a invoice. Upon review it had my name but wrong address. Someone else offered more. Total bummer
