I just ordered a case of 12 cans of Starrett M1 on Zoro. I had put it in the cart and left it for a few hours deciding how bad I wanted it. They gave me a 15% off discount code to get me to check out.

It came out to $110.14 shipped. On Amazon the same case is $163 before tax. No less expensive on Ebay. Twelve 12oz cans is over a gallon.

This stuff is a great preservative. It dries to a thin coat that protects from rust without getting gummy like wd40. I did over do it on a few things but it cleans off well. It's a light mineral oil without all the solvents of a classic penetrating oil.

I still use wd40 for a cleaner and for cutting aluminum. I use M1 for light lubrication and rust prevention. Works great for cleaning calipers and leaving a miniscule layer of lubrication.

I've got one of those. I'd like to buy another.
$6 at Ace ($15 on Amazon). I picked up mine a couple of years ago when I used my Black Friday 50% off one item coupon on the gallon can of WD40.
