I'm putting new steppers on a BP CNC mill. The new steppers have a shaft just over 1/2" (0.550"). The old one has 5/8" (0.625"). The new one has a 1.55" stick out, whereas the old one was 2.125"

Any idea on how one would go about making an adapter for this motor to fit the old pulleys?

Make an adapter. 1" piece of stock. 2.125 long. Turn to 5/8 leaving a 3/8" collar at 1"
Drill .550 from the collar side 1.55 deep.
Add a set screw to the collar and another at 90 degrees.

Just a thought based on the info provided.

Ya' see. That's why I hang out here.

I was thinking that the pulley needed to be physically over the new shaft. This adapter will move it out a little further, but that will actually work better, because I need to add an adapter to make the NEMA34 fit the mounting area of the old BP steppers.
