I had the pleasure of finding the documentary of Ricjhard J Flaherty. The smallest man ever to serve in the US military.
He only stood 4'9" and became a highly decorated green beret captain, mercenary, and spy. Then became homeless. He was ran down in a crosswalk and killed, and the woman didn't serve any time for hitting him.
It's an interesting story, incredible and sad at the same time.
If you have some time give it a watch. I found it on Amazon, but it's probably elsewhere also.
