I built this engine back in the 1980s for my 30 ft steam launch, later converted to a one cylinder marine Hicks gas engine with 11 HP, 5 1/2 X 6 1/2 bore and stroke, my friend Wes bought the boat from me less engine and has bought back its original steam engine and boiler, he and his dad plan to put it back together; here is a video he just made.

I should have added that I built several other engines for customers and a number of casting kits before selling the patterns and drawings to Pat Spurlock of Portland Oregon, who continued to sell casting sets.

Very cool. What kind of boiler and did you make it or was it made by somebody else?

The boiler, a Roberts type was built by Don Mentzer of Oregon, he built a lot of boilers for our friends. I did the outer casing.
