My SB heavy 9 didn't come with a threading dial back in the day and not having one was a pain, so my friend Pete Sorenson was awesome and made me the gear, shaft and dial based on his own SB9. I simply made the housing 
I also started this project because I was really pee'd off at failing to rebuild my bike battery, so this was a kind of catharsis!

Testing for fit (it didn't). Bearings are bronze oilite drilled and reamed to fit

Finished product. Note the groove near the top to clear the ways and the extended groove at the bottom to clear the screw when it's disengaged
