OK folks just purchased this inside micrometer. Anyone know how to zero it or know of a manual or instructions for its use20220330_084038.jpg20220330_084053.jpg

Scheer-Tumico tubular mics . :encourage:

I have the Starrett version of that mic. No special tricks to using but they require a light touch, easy to spring the jaws inward. You can check it against a known good 1" external mic or ring gauge. The barrel should rotate (like an external mic) to adjust.

Adjustment may be under the knurled end cap. Scherr Tumico is a very good make.

The thread is opposite to an external mic, turning the barrel the same direction as an external mic opens the jaws.

I found a Scherr-Tumico service manual on the web at one point. I have a big 0-12" mic set, a 0-12" depth mic, and a few pieces of my thread mic set are all Scherr-Tumico. Excellent stuff! Anyway, commercial over, I'll see if I have it on my laptop at home.

If the mike needs adjustment there is usually a hole in the sleeve. Use a spanner to rotate it to the correct position.
