Uni-bit to the rescue!

Yeah, would have been nice to use the mill but I had to drill the holes in the ends - I don't have 2 feet of travel in Z, not to mention the space to accommodate the drill chuck and drill. I thought about using the drill press but the piece is wider than my drill press table so I had no way to clamp it. The only option I had was to hand drill it, which sucked. I got the holes drilled and tapped and they came out well but it reinforced the fact that I hate drilling holes when I cannot clamp the work and control the drill well.
