I was given a rifle barrel that looks to be someone's abandoned replacement job. It's in the white, has a thread extension of 24 t.p.i., .808" major diameter, about .628 long. I have looked in the following books by de Haas: Single Shot Rifles and Actions and Bolt Action Rifles with no matches. A number 1 drill will not enter the bore and a number 2 is loose. I tried pressing a 22lr bullet to engrave the rifling but got poor results for measuring. I will slug the bore next, but thought maybe someone would recognize the thread extension and be able to identify the action this was intended for. I am thinking of using this for a Hopkins and Allen 922 I have. I will turn the barrel to fit the Hopkins and have plenty of metal to spare. Does anyone have an idea what action this may have been threaded for?:dunno:
