Hello all, first post here. I am looking to buy a small-ish lathe for my home workshop. Somewhere in the 9-12" swing range. A 10" South Bend Heavy with hardened ways would be ideal. Or something similar in size. Prefer something single phase, though could do a three phase machine with a phase converter or VFD. Budget is in the $3,000 range. I am located in Graham, TX, two hours west of Dallas/Fort Worth. I'm willing to drive 5 or so hours' (~350 miles) radius from Graham. So that would include Houston/Austin/San Antonio TX, most of Oklahoma, western Louisiana, western Arkansas, southwestern Missouri, and southern Kansas.
I'd also be open to having one shipped, but I'm guessing the cost to ship from cross-country will be $600-800, so the price of the lathe would need to be a little lower, or it would need to be really nice.
Any leads?
Thanks,
Stephan Nelle
