I had no plans to go out on Sunday but I was doing my normal periodic Craigslist search for "lathe" and saw an ad for a garage sale and noticed this telescope contraption for sale. I went quickly and the guy didn't know what it really was. Paid $50. All gummed up with paint so will need to be pulled apart and stripped. Can't find any obvious maker marks. Chuck is a 4 inch Union 3 jaw. On the way home I decided to stop by a junk shop for a 1/2" allen wrench ($1) and saw a small Starrett level (#130) and paid $20. Not a bad day!

I never thought of using a dividing head as an equatorial telescope mount, but it makes sense. Whoever used to own that must have gotten a heck of a deal on it or they would have used something a lot cheaper.

I was keeping an eye on dividing heads on eBay for one that looked like mine and Bingo! It is Brown & Sharpe baby! For $50! Couldn't see the marking under all of the black paint. The pics on eBay did tell me that I am missing two oilers.
