Hey Guys,

What would this hex drive be used for, and on what type of machine?

21/32 hex drive
1.19 hex height
1.75 shaft outer
3.10 shaft height
0.99 shaft inner diameter
Smallish set screw

Thanks a bunch, and hope everyone has a great weekend!

Greg

It looks a bit like a shop made arbor press tip for some special job. Either a broach, sheet metal cutting die or nut press- is it hardened? . The hint to me is that it want to be in compression- seems like it would have better anti rotating features otherwise.

Thanks a bunch for the response.

Seems hardened. Could be for a press, but I have eight of them. Not sure that there would ever be a need for eight separate, identical, press tips. Don't believe it is a punch as I think the tip geometry would be a little different. I'm still stumped. :dunno:

Have a great Holiday Weekend!
