I have a Central Machinery 9x20 lathe, with no tailstock, on a 2'x4' steel table. I have come across the deal of the century on a miller bobcat welder.
I no longer need the little lathe and was considering selling it.
It has no tailstock, and most of the change gears are missing.
What would be a fair asking price?
Is there anyone on this forum who would be interested?

Hmmmmmm.... maybe time to quit thinking about an aluminum foundry and actually make one!

$3-400 would be my guess. Without a tail stock you miss out on a bunch of really useful lathe stuff and I'd guess a replacement would be in the order of $100-200 if you could find one. The tend to go for anywhere between $600 and $1000 complete around here, which is fairly pricey for small hobby sized equipment

I have been keeping an eye out for any 6"-9" tailstock to adapt to it. Belive me I know how much a lathe is not capable of without one. Thats been the main hangup on selling it.

for sure, I didn't mean to imply otherwise, only to justify the price that I gave. Couldn't see any on eBay, compared with loads of Atlas ones, so I can only guess that not many people part these out.
