Why would I need a horizontal mill if I already have a vertical mill?

that is a sweet machine!
 
Well, the horizontal mill has sold. As cool as it is, as useful as it would have been and as much fun as I would have had with it I am not crushed. Actually a little relieved as I would have spent many days rearranging my shop to accommodate it. Not to mention what I would have spent in Shaper cutters.
 
Sadly, I think the rule of thumb is that if something on Craig's List is a good deal and you take the time to post about it here you WILL NOT EVER get it. On the bright side, as someone who has been "forced" to buy a machine I didn't need (or even really want in one case) just because it was there--and below some arbitrary price I had set--it probably is good sometimes to hold off and let someone else have it!
