It bolts on 3/4" hole 2" ball, I was going to put the ball in the bucket but couldn't see it, the cross piece evans out the wait a little . This was just a quick solution for moving trailers around easily.

Got the new task light (30") LED modification complete on the lathe in preparation for the new control system mksj is designing/building.

The light reflector was slightly different from previous posts so I thought I would share a simple solution to adapt the Philips 8.5W bulb that puts out 660 lumens (P/N MRX16).
The reflector bulb collar was filed to accept the bulb and a piece of .065 filler rod was used to bend up a snap type retainer clip. This will make bulb replacement easier in the future.
The bulbs are well made from some sort of pot metal and the built in heat syncs should provide years of service (22.8 years). The Philips has two grooves that the retainer clip fits into securing the bulb snuggly in place from the back side.

The bulb was purchased at Home Depot for around $11.00. My eyes will like the light and my hands won't miss the heat from the old halogen bulb. Hope this helps .

Paco , I'm not getting the 30" part , but that spot/flood light should do good.

I liked roodie33 post of the knurling tool so much I made one for myself.
Thanks Mike it works great.

Also took my rotary table apart to clean and adjust as it has been about 5 years since servicing. Decided to strip and repaint the base and
repaint the graduation numbers and lines. Turned out fairly good.

Nice job on the hitch. I need to do that on mine. Mike

Oh yea, I'm a knucklehead sometimes. The lamp is not shown in the post, but its a typical articulating lamp commonly found on lathes. I'll post up some pictures once I mount the lamp. I'm replacing the short snake type lamp that came on the lathe. This is the light I purchased on eBay.

Paco,

What convertor are you using to get the 12v ac? Does it use the 220v supply? My lathe came with that same light and an upgrade to LED would be a good mod.

Decided to make myself an SI-Drive knob cover for my 2016 Subaru STI. The cover is made from aluminum and it has a 1988 penny (my birth year) mounted flush with the top. I was aiming to have the penny press fitted into the cover, but I over shot the measurment by .001. Wasn't happy with it, so I JB Welded it to the flat bottomed bore. Like always, I'm still learning and don't yet have the skills you fellows have.image.jpeg

After replacing gaskets and valve covers w/o provisions for PCV and breather, figured the breather could go in as the filler cap.....

Threaded the mystery aluminum.

On the motor... looks like it came that way...

One more project off the to do list!

Dan it is a 12V LED, it will run off of 12VDC via a step down converter from the main 24VDC power supply. The one that comes with the standard PM lathes usually is a 24VAC bulb which runs off of the AC transformer. Most of the LED bulbs will run off of AC or DC (they convert AC to DC via a bridge rectifier), there are some 24 V LED bulbs from Chinese vendors with Bi-Pins that fit the lamp (already tried them), color and lumen output is often not as good as the Philips bulbs.

Like the simplicity of the LED light conversion from firestopper.
