Building a Pulse EDM machine

hi can i ask two questions
if i go with book pcb pack ,and build one
what kind performances it will have ?
example , tube fi 15mm with hole 8mm ,and i need to carve pocket inside 20mm
and pocket will be 2mm tick 4mm wide
how much time edm will need to make that pocket inside ?
and last
how to connect edm head with ramps controls to have cnc like control with mech3/4 ?
thanks

I really don't think anyone can say how long a process will take. EDM is not a fast process but is the best method for some needs. It is also hard to say what kind of performance you would get as every machine may be a little different and there are many variables such as fluid type, amount of current, and what you use for an electrode. There are many variables.

oh
so when i build one ,i need test first times oki

and is it possible to make cnc out of it (when i get time and all) ?
i need to make 24 pockets like that in tube so i hope will be make part for mach3
,press run and came next day for finished part :)

Oh, it's more exciting than that! A grain of sand inclusion can stop the cut, the speed of cut depends on the
workpiece and the cutter, but also on the electrical settings. Finish and speed are not always
equally important, you can trade off one for the other. Cutter advance is usually automatic,
not directly controlled by the operator.
On some cranky old machines, the cut works better if you clamp a vibrator to the tank.
Polarity is usually (+) on the workpiece, but you could swap.
Sometimes you want to cut from the top down, sometimes from the bottom up.

It turns into a new adventure, when one least expects it.

ah adventure :))
love that ,but i want to do some things with it
that i cant or close to impossible to make on normal machines
i know that was possible to make on g5 mill with some rly expensive toll bits

huh
well i guess i will just order a book kit and just start

i read this setup use 110v and europe is 220v is there any transformator that do 220v input and give 110v out i need for this ?

The transformers specified can be wired for 220 on the primary, I think. You may have to order a different control transformer though.

The transformer ought to have similar secondary windings, but input (primary) windings
rated for your voltage and frequency (the 50 Hz frequency of European power is
as important as the 240V voltage, in selecting a transformer). The fuse is also
different on 120 and 240V, of course.

thanks
do you maybe know which one have that i need for pulse edm ?

I should have jumped to the end to see if it was finished before I read the entire thread haha. It's always sad when an excellent post like this goes incomplete.
