Dunno why I bought this but I did.
Maybe I've caught a drill press disease?
Am getting soft in the head?
Cause it looks so cool?
All of the above?
Temperature was minus 4 degrees here yesterday so I paid for it and have till Jan. 15 to pick it up.
Electro-Mechano model 801.
There is some info on the various machine shop forums but not a lot.
Be nice to find a manual for it.

Pretty cool looking , it looks to have a variable speed ?

Agreed, that one is a must buy!

I read up on the specs, that machine is awesome! 20" throat, 150-4000 rpm, #3 mt. I assume you go a good deal on it too?

Is it a geared head?
Brian

EDIT: ....and I'll never buy a drill press without table t-slots again! They're just too useful.

A very substantial looking machine, what form of transmission does it use?

Wait until you find out that there was an optional belt driven power feed that could bolt onto those. We'll find out shortly how bad you've got the disease.... :)

Ok, in all fairness, I've seen ONE of those, one time in my entire life. And I'm only 98 percent sure that it was a power feed bolted to it, but it hooked to the right places, and it was obviously a manufactured accessory, And I couldn't afford it at the time. 100 percent sure on that last one, otherwise I'd have it. Kind of an odd looking disproportionate thing, but for small shop arrangement, I like the idea of not having the motor hang out the back.
