I was just going to build a stand for my Atlas, a Covid stand. I ended up with a disassembled mill and still no stand. Don't you hate it when stuff like this happens.
I am still in the make-over phase. I found a really nice welded table from U-line, just waiting on delivery.
The restoration has been mostly trouble free, except for a small broken cast iron pivot, I was able to repair it. Lets see if it holds.
I took the mill apart because I was having a lot of trouble going in and out of back gear, turns out the back gear shaft was a hair out of alignment, but it was enough to make it difficult to move.
I was in the middle of building a mechanical hacksaw kit from the 50's when the back gear problems started, more on that kit later. I should have taken more pictures of that build, as it was a lot of fun to do.
Anyway, just an update.
Any suggestions and comments, on restoring one of these handy little mills would certainly be welcome
