Mounting base on a plinth

I didn't say riser block, just riser. Can be made of any material, and no I didn't mean just the head. Most people reference the table height when addressing the machine working level being too low. Being tall myself, I can sympathize.

Just funnin with ya Bro. Not tryin to contradict you in any way.

The machine is to replace an M1 Tom Senior mill. I had already made a plinth out of concrete blocks for that machine. Fortunately I made it a lot wider than it was needed and the base of the VN#12 just fits on it.

What sort of "concrete blocks" are we talking about? A typical US concrete block (aka cinder block) is 8x8x16"; I'm not sure that I would use one without filling in the holes with concrete.

Cal;

You can get those 8X8X16 Solid.

Haha. UK concrete blocks come in much smaller sizes. They're about 31/2" wide, 15" long and 10" high. I obviously laid them on the side. They are solid.
