@tailstock what's with your shop ? Looks to be more than a garage hobby shop , I see a lot of stuff in the distance .

It’s my home shop that I’ve been working on for over 30 years. This is actually the second building I’ve occupied. I thought when I first got this building, which was quite a bit larger than my first, that I would have all the room I would ever need. Foolish me.@tailstock what's with your shop ? I did a post in Practical Machinist about how I paint and the paint I use. Here’s the link to it if you’re interested.Ahhhh, so thats why my lathe looks like it does, its customised patina.
Virtually all the paint on my lathe has deteriorated, peeled off, melted, dissolved etc.
The first jug of cutting fluid I used softened all the paint it touched.
I would like to tear it down and clean and repaint but what type of paint is the most durable.
What do you do? Are you a machine rebuilder. Thanks. Charlie.I did a post in Practical Machinist about how I paint and the paint I use. Here’s the link to it if you’re interested.

No, I’m not a machine tool rebuilder by trade. I’ve just enjoyed doing a few for myself and helped a couple friends with theirs. What do you do? Are you a machine rebuilder. Thanks. Charlie.
Absolutely one of the finest shops I have ever seen. No, I’m not a machine tool rebuilder by trade. I’ve just enjoyed doing a few for myself and helped a couple friends with theirs.
Thanks. That's very generous of you. Wasn't trying to brag, but recently I've begun to start showing some of it as there seems to be some interest in it. I know that I enjoy seeing other people's shops and machines.Absolutely one of the finest shops I have ever seen.
