I have restored an Atlas moel 73 drill press from the early 40's. The only thing I still need to do is have a new pulley made if that's even possible. I'm pretty sure I could find another pulley..perhaps a blank one...but it would need to be spline broached as you see in the pic. The spindle is likewise splined and slides up and down in the bore as you operate the quill. This one works but is "Wallered" out and vibrates and will only get worse. These are no longer available and I don't have a clue as to who might be able to broach one or even make a new pulley if needed. I've put a ton of work in this press and want to make it last another 70 years.
