I knew sales were robust but I wasn't expecting this.
Gunbroker and Bud's Gun Shop have always been my go to places to browse.
My search criteria at Bud's was __ in stock and __ California compliant =OUT OF STOCK.
Good problem if you're a gun manufacturer.

Have you considered a 1911-builders one:) ? They sell 80% kits that are pretty darn nice. I did the aluminum commander a few years ago that I really like.

Bud's has been advertizing the heck out of their stock of Kimber 1911s lately, and I know I've drooled over their Rock River offerings. I'm sure you know that all single-stack 1911s are California compliant, making that a bit of a redundant search term.

It's been several years since I last checked, but I remembered something about Ruger suing/talking about suing CA because they wouldn't put the SR1911 on the safe gun list. All the preexisting/older 1911 manufacturers were grandfathered in. It isn't illegal to own an SR1911 in CA, you just can't buy one new from a gun store. You can legally buy one from a private party and have an FFL put it into your name. CA gun laws are ridiculous.

Yeah, kind of screwy how the State of CA gets to define "division capacity" for competitive match shooters across the country. Perhaps they think they're helping us by saving wear and tear on our thumbs when loading magazines.

Jeff, check out Fusion Firearms. I did a 9mm conversion for a friends Ruger 1911 with all Fusion parts. I was so impressed that I later bought myself a little somtin somtin. The owner of the company is an ex- president of Dan Wesson Firearms. They sell complete guns too.

80% 1911 frame
It will need the rails finished, and a cut for a ramped barrel if I go that route.

Neat! I didn't know Fusion did 80% kits! I did the 1911builders one, which was nice because it came with every part. The only problem I had was that the extractor was significantly oversized which caused feeding issues, but I figured that out eventually.
