I have a possible job that someone has ask me to do. He would like a couple of parts made for an M31. Now he said once the parts are made he is sending them out to get gun blued and then welded together. I was wondering if some of you gurus could tell me what type of material i would be looking at needing?
 
Not even sure if this is legal Brent . :dunno: We used a lot of Al Mar when building guns for the Gubmint if this helps you .
 
I have been asked to do some questionable gun parts, I urge caution in accepting such work. What is a M31, I am not familiar with it.
 
It use to be a kit you can but and then build and put together yourself but it was discontinued. The gun parts are supposably hard to find right now. Customer is asking about making the Tube, Ejector Pin, and the Center Section Receiver.
 
M31 looks to be a grenade launcher ? My past company helped in the development of the early ones , as well as the OICW projects which I was fully involved in . I agree with bemmy , it's a gray subject here . I wouldn't manufacture any gun part for anyone including best friends . For myself , sure . I would also NEVER respond to ANY emails asking if you can machine lowers and that kind of stuff that eliminates flashes and sound . Never , don't do it Brent . The walls have eyes . And ears as well . ;) I don't even like talking anything about guns over the net , you just never know anymore .

LOL , New York and black guns go together like gunpowder and matches . :grin: Just be careful . The al mar is great stuff like I said , all our guns were made from it .
 
Materials consist of DOM Tube steel and 1018 as far as i see. However you all are right with on thing. In the pdf and documentation the customer sent me it says that the Tube is considered a receiver therefor i will be passing on the job. Thanks for the words of wisdom.
 
Yeah , I just looked it up . A Finnish semi auto machine gun having a receiver and not considered a tube . Who's our governor up there now ? :grin: I don't even feel comfortable hauling the ARs up to the property any more after meeting Officer Pickett on my land ! :oops:
