For the past few days it seems I need to re-login every time I visit the site. This is new behavior, I have the "remain logged in" box checked. Has something changed here or is it something on my end?

Thanks!

Rich

Haven't been around for awhile, but this was how I had to log in again. Opened the picture/ video link in a new window, saw an article on broaching, read down to the sketch, double clicked the picture(hobby-machinist.com/attachments/broach_zps13bb7bd0-jpg.182786/). The screen that tells you that you don't have permission to view/ login came up, logged in and viewed picture and saved link for you all. I usually open links in new windows because I have a tendency to wander, this is my trail of bread crumbs. Thanks for all the hard work all you people do!

Was this in the Home page (no longer here)?
Is this still happening?
What browser was this in?

Thanks.

Ok, my log in problems went away soon as I deleted my HM bookmark. Also I turned off my iPad to clear anything in memory. When I turned it back on and opened the site, I was automatically logged in, and so far have stayed loggin whilst navigating to different fora.

Yesterday evening I deleted my HM bookmarks as instructed. So far (3 or 4 times in 16 hrs.) I've been able to get on the site without entering my logon data. WAY TO GO Guys!! :cheer:

Tomorrow I'll try making new bookmarks??

Day 2 of logging in with new bookmark. Still no need to sign in (with "remember password" checked).
Problem seems to be taken care of - for me at least.

Hi All,

Over a week ago I did have a problem where I needed to re-login for every page change but only on one device. However, before I could understand/reproduce it reliable it went away. I suspect it was fixed by site changes. Thanks!

However, right now I am experiencing something slightly different....but maybe related....

1) I revisited an existing, older thread.
(this one here: https://www.hobby-machinist.com/threads/taking-the-cnc-plunge.24858/post-219398)
2) I try to follow a link that someone posted.
(in post #22, here: https://www.hobby-machinist.com/threads/taking-the-cnc-plunge.24858/post-227341)
(the problem link is: http://www.hobby-machinist.com/showthread.php?t=8187)
3) I right-click and "open link in new tab"
4) that new tab opens with an "Upgrade system login" screen, I login.
5) I get "Oops! We ran into some problems. Security error occurred. Please press back, refresh the page, and try again."

Left-clicking on the link takes me down the same route.
I have tried instead to copy the link and change the "http" to "https" and paste that into the URL line in the browser, but I get the same thing.
So it appears that some "intra-site" links in old threads are broken or somhow showing some re-login "funnies".

I am using Firefox 54.0.1 (64-bit) on Win7.

I am nor sure if my current issue is related to the issue(s) in this thread or not.
If not please feel free to move this to another thread.

Thanks,
-brino

EDIT: Hmm....maybe it is just an issue with some mal-formed links that TomS posted in that thread. I see he tried several times to fix a link posting issue he had, but every one of them look broken in the same way to me.
