So from what i was reading that is the one i want for a .0002 res
 
Awesome so i got that at a great deal prob now i need to just see how to adjust the scales for a mini mill.
 
Now are these scales able to be cut down and made smaller?

No cutting these scales. You need to let the seller know the lengths you want.

With their misspelling and all. You will want to tell them the lengths you want in millimeters. 0-3000mm....ok who orders a 0 scale? usually 50mm is minimum.

Ok thank you i gues ill have to go to grizzly to get dimensions and add that to the listing. I guess i should read the fine print lol.

Make sure to measure the axes travel of the actual machine that will get the scales. Do NOT use numbers out of a spec sheet or anything else. Axis travel is easy to measure accurately. Then add more to the scale travel length beyond that, never the same or less. Otherwise, you will end up with a crash. There must be more scale travel length than axis travel. Beyond that, if you make the scales 1 mm longer than the travel, you will play hell trying to get the scale mounted without interference (CRASH) at one end or the other. Making sure you have enough space, go oversize by at least an inch or more to make the scales easier to mount to the machine without fussy measurements. Extra length, up to where it becomes floppy or interferes with something, is not a problem, too short IS a problem. Bottom line: If there is not enough room and the read head can reach an end bracket of the scale, it will at some point, no matter how careful you are, and it will crash. Make it idiot proof from the beginning and all will be well. Make sure of what dimension the seller is asking for and supply it in precisely the way he asked for it. Make sense?
 
Yea unfortunately i dont have the mill yet but the lengths i used should be fine.
 
We'll have to compare when Brento's arrives from Aston. I think we've got 3 or 4 from Siton.
Greg, Russ, Bob, Eddy and others that I'm forgetting have ordered recently.
Might be helpful and informative if we did up a comparison of the 5μm sets & 1μm sets and the vendors that they came from.
