I need both tap and die in 1/4 x 25 TPI for making trigger guard screws for 1903 Springfield.
I'd take 1/4 x 1mm if there is such a beast. I want to use socket head screws so they can be torqued the same every time they are removed. I use a long handled Allen wrench with and extension and pick up the rifle with the long arm to use the weight of the rifle to apply the twist. No fancy wrench needed to get repeatable results.
I learned this trick from a German air rifle I shot in the Air Force.
