OK, there you go you evil beast. Mike

That's funny. Whenever I go to a casino and play a slot machine, if I have 666 credits, I pray I don't hit a win on that spin. Im afraid it's like selling my soul tot he devil. LOL!

Lol shanks I mean thanks, idk just something about it I don't like, specially when my odometer reads it

I made a towel bar for my wife's apartment. The original towel bar was made from square plastic tubing. It looked like crap and worked the same.

The ends are square brass tubing sized to fit into the towel bar supports. The bar itself is 3/4" round brass tubing. The transition is machined from 1" brass round stock.

The finished bar:

A close up of the end.

This is an early stage photo, where much pitting is present in the joint between the round bar and my machined piece. I was using too much heat. Eventually I got a smooth joint. Of course, I didn't take a photo.

The bar is now at the platers! Hopefully it comes out with a shiny and smooth chrome finish.

Cheers,

Tom

Nice, NO chance of bow throwing stuff on top out of alignment.

Now to find a mill with enough table and travel to mill the top plates flat/together.

Looking good!

Early on I looked into this but didn't find a shop with big enough equipment. I know someone in the area has big enough machines but I ended up installing the mount plates last and used tubing and clamps to ensure they were in the same plane before tacking them. I also only did a few stitch welds to keep any distortion at a minimum. With the tubing for alignment I measured a max of .025" gap between the plates and the frame tubing before they were welded into place. There should be minimal twist but I'm not sure how I would measure it so don't know how much.

You know, it was your fault I wasn't ready to paint today. LOL

I read your comment and thought some, stared at it for a while, thought some more and after sleeping on it figured it was better to add them now before paint than later if they were needed. One of the best things about this site is the feedback from everyone. Always nice to have other eyes on a design and get constructive feedback.

Maybe you could borrow an autocollimator and scrape them in pretty close.
