We've all heard that 60 HZ AC current cycles on & off 60 times per second but it happens so fast that our eyes & brain can't see the off time, we only see the on time which is the light that is produced.
I had some fluorescent light bulbs going bad in the shop, so I grabbed a ladder & was going to take a picture of the information on the bulb before I went to the supply house. The picture was taken from a good working bulb using my I- Phone camera.
So the next time someone says you cannot see the light going off & on, tell them that you can.
