70 C10 resto-mod (was Chevy culture shock)

If I had any faith the EGA could be used, I'd drop a hundo on it, but $800 is a hard pass.Guess I'll just stick with my vac gauge.
Those of us that didn't grow up fiddling with carbs find a meter of some kind comforting.

Uncle Tony Garage has a few videos covering timing and carb settings with a vacuum gauge. They are in his first couple years of videos.
Here is one of them.

I started with this one and I like that it's q-jet specific and very simple:

I like Tony's stuff, particularly rebuilds. He tells you the absolutely correct way and also why you may be able to get away with cheating a little

I rebuilt my first Rochester on my living room table with nothing more than a copy of the exploded diagram and a float height spec, knowing I had to have my truck running to get to work the next day. Youtube is making people soft...

I got a $10 BT amp and 2 3.5" 4ohm speakers(to replace the old 4x10 dash unit) Retaining the AM unit, but that requires running the wires in series to make an 8ohm load so I added a 4PDT on-off-on switch for the speaker circuits
