A bit of chemistry

So I combination of acetone:kerosene:”oil” might be good for cleaning parts? 1:2:3 or 2:1:3 or 2:1:2
Acetone separately as a degreaser and drying agent, kerosene/oil as a rust inhibitor. The kerosene will thin the oil, allowing it to get into tiny cracks and crevices and then evaporate, leaving a protective oil film.

Well, I took most everyone’s advice ,however I had the Ospho Blue so I went that route. It’s basically a slightly diluted phosphorus acid. Worked out very well. I had 4 buckets. Acid for 20 min, on to hot water with dawn and baking soda, wd40, and finally into a bucket of tranny fluid. No rust whatsoever. The hot water I think was key. The metal almost dried immediately. Thanks to everyone for your help
