I was building a spline jig for my table saw to cut some grooves for splines in a box I’m building. I needed a T stud for the work stop, but for the life of me, I couldn’t find the ones I am pretty sure I have somewhere in the shop. No worries, I’ll just machine one. Or so I thought…

I measured the width of the T slot, and proceeded to turn the T portion to that diameter instead of making it larger and milling the flats to that width. I’m happy to say I only made that mistake once :)

life is good when we can laugh at ourselves.
I literally laughed out loud when I realized what I did, at least the mistake was on an easy to make piece.
 
Can you modify the head. If so you now have a quick inserting T nut. Just give it 1/2 turn to lock in the slot
