Almost there damnit lol, mixed a new batch of etch and new batch of acid based electrolyte, used titanium bar for my connection, adhered strictly to temps and 720 rule and all good except the dye didnt go as black as expected!! Came out more of a grey/blue than black but at least I'm in right direction.
I etched for good 15 mins even tho it was newly machined part. I went for 0.5mm depth as I read this would be better for dye uptake. Area calculated as 7.22" squared so soaked for an hour at 0.3amps.
If my logic is right I'm thinking pores weren't quite big enough to absorb enough dye. Could this be I need more power perhaps??
