Another paint question -Hammertone

I had thought of some sort steampunk color theme, maybe brown hammertone with brass accents and silver dials and handles.

But, reality is I will probably go with 'machine grey'.
 
Now if the operators hair was died to match the lathe that would be awesome!
 
When I was over in the UK many years ago, Hammerite had a smooth gloss version, it was a two part mix. I use to use it on all kinds of stuff and it was hard. I even did a car with it at one point. Fender bent out from under the paint in a little accident and it left sheets of the paint sticking out. That stuff was hard and durable not much affected it, but it was a pain, to clean up your paint equipment when you finished, if you did not it was toast.
 
I actually think hat orange lathe looks pretty good, like a sports car. Problem is the first time anyone to much as touches it with greasy hands, it may as well not be painted at all. I'd rather a color that hides the grime.
