Im on the FB Hardinge page tonight talking with a guy . He posted a picture of the original Hardinge drive dog and was looking for measurements to make one . I told him I had one in my hand today and of course I couldn't find it tonight . I did find it , out in the garage and sent him pics with measurements . Now the strange part . This came out of my ex-coworkers box from Unilever . When I examined the dog it had a name engraved on it . George Sprague ! Well SOB ! George was the master Hardinge guy at the tool and die shop where I learned this trade . If the tolerance was over 2 tenths , he wasn't interested . A true craftsman . RIP George but your tools live on . Don't know how this tool got it's way around Baltimore other than the flea market but what a coincidence .
