Attempting to Read Manuals Created with Obsolete Software

Have you looked for a used computer?
I find computers that still operate cheap
I keep several so I can communicate with old machine controls.
I do not attempt to take them online.

I have a machine capable of running 95-Vista but I wouldn't have a clue what software to use.
What I would do, first, is open a file in Notepad and look for any indication of what program version it runs under.
Then once that was known, you could try a frostwire search to see if there's anyone out there sharing the program. I'm sure the copyright is long expired so there shouldn't be a problem with that.
I have kept most all my programs from the first CD to now. people think I'm crazy but it's come in handy a couple times since I have that computer that can run them. I buy older machines that, sometimes, aren't compatible with newer computers. That's always fun to get them to work again.

Used to use XT-Pro Gold or DS-211 back in the ‘80s for file conversions. DOS based and may have these programs stashed away.
