After turning the mounting posts for the bandsaw guides the bandsaw decided to do a solid for the lathe:

These blocks hold the chucks at the exact mounting height for the d1-4 backplates and they can be slid into place with minimal contact with the bed ways.

Nice- how are you liking your 1236T? I see a few personalized touches

It is pretty fantastic but when I bought the 1236T the 1340T was only about $500 more and looking back I should have gotten it. Not that I have run into capacity limitations yet but in the grand scheme of things after all the upgrades and additional tooling the $500 seems like a pittance. At the time I was just trying to save a little money... I replaced the toolpost with a Dorian BXA, added a Gator 8" 4 jaw and a Bison 6" 6-jaw. I installed magnetic DRO scales and tachometer that connects to the LCD display. I built my own stand based on David Best's stand but I went with thicker section steel for all the components. Mark Jacobs built my control panel and I built the VFD cabinet with a heavy dose of input and help from him as well.
