Since the tip does not matter, I would just file or stone (if hardened), the burr off, and be done with it.
Grind that tip off , it is not needed . It'll also save you some blood in the future !
The fact that the tip is bent suggests it is not particularly hard.Dumb question: how do I tell if it is hardened ( other than burning up a tool)?
I am surprised that a group of enablers are not jumping on the obvious answer! Now in order to save your $20.00 dead center you absolutely need to have either a surface grinder and spin indexer, or you will need to find a tool post grinder.... But seriously, as mentioned just knock the hog nose off of it and you will be fine for all but the smallest diameter workpieces.
